Aspiritech Celebrates 15 Years

Evanston, IL, July 27, 2023 – – Aspiritech, the largest employer of neurodivergent individuals in North America, is thrilled to announce its 15th-anniversary celebration and upcoming company picnic sponsored by Byline Bank on July 29. This milestone event will bring together the Aspiritech team, partners, and community to commemorate a decade and a half of excellence in neurodiverse employment, software testing, and quality assurance.

Aspiritech, a non-profit organization, has grown to 100+ employees, more than 90% of whom are autistic. Aspiritech’s mission is to provide meaningful employment for people with autism. It has succeeded in building a thriving business and a supported work environment that is psychologically safe and welcoming to all.

Aspiritech is a quality assurance and data services company that boasts more than 99% year-over-year employee retention, with 93% of the team reporting engagement at the highest level. “We nurture our team with professional development, leadership, and management training,” said Tara May, CEO of Aspiritech. “Project leads and managers have been promoted from within our organization. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that more than 80% of autistic adults in the U.S. are unemployed or underemployed. “With the pace of software development and AI needs rapidly accelerating, we see opportunities for growth in front of us,” May said.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Byline Bank’s Neurodiversity Resource Group, a passionate team dedicated to fostering inclusivity and supporting neurodivergent employees and their families, is sponsoring the event and has organized a lunch-and-learn webinar with Aspiritech for its employees. This interactive session, led by a neurodivergent team from Aspiritech, will provide valuable insights and strategies to create a more inclusive and welcoming workplace for all.

May emphasized the importance of neurodiversity in all workplaces. “Your team is neurodiverse, whether you know it or not,” she said. “We provide training led by a neurodivergent team on ways you can make your workplace more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.”

Lori Kohn and Jake Gross, co-founders of Byline Bank’s Neurodiversity Resource Group, are excited about the initiative. “Our goal is to increase understanding and reduce stigma around neurodiversity while supporting our neurodivergent employees and those who are supporting neurodiverse family members,” Kohn and Gross said. “We are proud to collaborate with Aspiritech to further our mission.”
