Aspiritech has spent 17 years proving that an inclusive workforce isn’t just possible—it’s essential. But we can’t do it alone. Your donation today will fund employment, training, and community programs that empower autistic professionals to thrive.
Aspiritech, the nation’s leading provider of tech solutions delivered by a majority-autistic team, today announced the acquisition of TEKFIRM, a respected IT and cybersecurity services provider.
With TEKFIRM’s deep expertise in the financial services sector, the move positions the Chicago-based nonprofit for rapid growth in competitive industries while opening new career pathways for its neurodivergent workforce.
The acquisition significantly strengthens Aspiritech’s offerings by integrating TEKFIRM’s proven cybersecurity and managed IT capabilities with Aspiritech’s established reputation in software testing, accessibility compliance audits, and data services. TEKFIRM brings an extensive track record of supporting highly regulated industries, particularly financial services, where robust cybersecurity is mission-critical.
“Aspiritech continues to show the world that autistic people are a value to the workplace and every industry,” Aspiritech CEO Tara May said. “This acquisition is another bold step in this important work.”
The announcement comes as Aspiritech expands its Aspiritech Academy program to include cybersecurity training, providing cost-free technical and soft skills training to neurodivergent adults interested in gaining experience for in-demand tech roles. Additionally, Aspiritech’s new cybersecurity apprenticeship expansion, launched in September 2025, will be further enhanced by TEKFIRM’s hands-on expertise and mentorship. Aspiritech employees will also have opportunities to train directly with TEKFIRM’s specialists, creating new career pathways in cybersecurity and managed IT.
“Aspiritech’s mission remains at the core of everything we do,” Aspiritech Board of Directors Chairperson Michael Duff said. “This expands that mission from QA to cybersecurity in a meaningful step for our vision.”
Vivek Chopra, chair of Aspiritech’s M&A Committee, concurred, emphasizing the unique position Aspiritech is in to acquire a for-profit entity.
“Aspiritech’s talented autistic team members allow this organization to run like a business and control its own destiny,” Chopra said. “This is a momentous step for any organization and a leap forward for a nonprofit.”
“We couldn’t be more excited for our new partnership with Aspiritech,” said Oscar Gonzalez, general manager at TEKFIRM. “Partnering with Aspiritech allows us to bring even more value to clients. Their mission and our vision align perfectly, and together, we’re ready to accomplish something truly extraordinary.”
“For more than a decade, TEKFIRM has built a reputation for delivering trusted IT and cybersecurity solutions to our clients in the financial sector,” said TEKFIRM co-founder Dayron Portela. “We’re excited to see this next chapter under Aspiritech’s leadership, and we’re confident they will continue to build on TEKFIRM’s legacy of quality and client focus.”
With this acquisition, Aspiritech continues its trajectory as a trusted partner for organizations that require cutting-edge technical solutions and are committed to inclusive employment.
The transaction was facilitated by Transacta Capital, whose expertise is in helping companies use inorganic growth to scale. Transacta assisted in scouring the ripe MSP marketplace.
The U.S. market alone has more than 40,000 MSPs, according to ConnectWise. The overall global MSP (Managed Service Provider) market is substantial and rapidly growing, with current estimates for 2024 placing its value between $297 billion and $365 billion. Projections show it’s on track to reach over $500 billion by 2029, driven by increasing IT complexity and the need for ongoing operational support
The rise in cyber threats makes professional security oversight a necessity, leading many small businesses to rely on MSPs for managing and securing their IT environments.
“We are excited to leverage our deep expertise in accelerating growth to help Aspiritech’s mission propel to the next level,” Transacta Founder and CEO Harjit Singh said. “We know Aspiritech and TEKFIRM’s team will be driving innovation and growth in the tech industry for years to come.”
