PRESS RELEASE: CHICAGO, IL – January 4, 2025 

The Helping Adults with Autism Perform and Excel (HAAPE) organization announces the establishment of its Chicago Chapter and the formation of the Chicago Autistic Workforce Ecosystem, a groundbreaking collaborative initiative with founding members Little Friends, Aspiritech, and Autonomy Works.

HAAPE is a pioneering organization dedicated to transforming employment opportunities for autistic adults based in Florida and specializes in creating and expanding chapters throughout the United States.

This strategic partnership brings together four organizations at the forefront of creating employment opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum, combining decades of experience in workforce development, job placement, and support services.

About the Autistic Workforce Ecosystem

The Autistic Workforce Ecosystem aims to create a comprehensive support network that enhances employment outcomes for autistic adults in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Each founding member brings unique strengths to the ecosystem:

  • Little Friends: more than 50 years of experience providing comprehensive services to individuals with autism and their families
  • Aspiritech: pioneer in technology employment opportunities for autistic adults
  • Autonomy Works: leader in creating meaningful data and process management careers for autistic adults
  • HAAPE: innovative approach to workforce development and employment support for the autistic community

“By joining forces, we’re creating a more inclusive and supportive employment landscape for autistic adults in Chicago,” said Dr. Larry Rothman, Chairman and CEO of HAAPE. “This ecosystem approach allows us to leverage each organization’s expertise while providing comprehensive support to both employees and employers.”

“For the past several years, Little Friends has been investing in new services and support for those individuals dealing with Autism. Our involvement with the creation of the HAAPE Chicago Chapter with Aspiritech and Autonomy Works is another extension of our commitment to the needs of those we collectively serve, and hope to serve,” Little Friends CEO Mike Briggs said.
