Aspiritech Academy’s IT Foundations: Intermediate Program is a virtual, 12-week, career-focused training course that prepares neurodivergent adults for specialist-level roles and continues their certification journey through the nationally recognized CompTIA certifications.

What Does the A+ Certification Prepare You For?

CompTIA A+ prepares learners for careers in IT support by developing the technical skills needed to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, configure operating systems, support networks, secure devices and assist end users. The certification is recognized by employers worldwide as the industry standard for launching a career in information technology.

IT Foundations: Intermediate Program Overview

This intensive training combines instructor-led learning, hands-on labs and real-world IT scenarios to build the foundational technical skills needed for today’s technology careers. Participants gain practical experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, troubleshooting and emerging technologies while preparing for the CompTIA A+ certification.

Enrollment is limited to maintain instructional quality and individualized support. Our cohorts are delivered online, allowing participants to learn from the comfort of their homes while receiving guidance from experienced instructors and engaging with a supportive learning community.

Experience Level

Designed for individuals beginning their IT journey or transitioning into technology careers. Participants should have foundational technology knowledge and be comfortable using a computer.

Previous hands-on experience with computers is beneficial but not required, as the program builds the technical skills needed for success in entry-level IT roles and prepares learners for the CompTIA A+ certification.

Credential Preparation

This course is preparing the participant to sit for the CompTIA A+ certification exam. It provides the foundational knowledge and skills required for the A+ exam success; however, learners should expect to complete additional study, practice and review before attempting the certification exam

Schedule

Classes are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time (CT) in addition to 10-15 hours of weekly self-study session for 12 weeks

Participants can expect to work approximately six hours per day.

This is a remote learning program.

CompTIA A+ Certification Preparation

This program establishes the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required for entry-level careers in information technology and technical support. Participants develop practical experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking, cybersecurity fundamentals, device configuration, troubleshooting and customer support while preparing to complete the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 certification exams.

CompTIA A+ certification demonstrates that you have the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of technology systems. Recognized by employers worldwide, it validates your readiness for roles such as IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, Desktop Support Technician, and Technical Support Analyst.

How to Apply to Aspiritech Academy

Our enrollment process is designed to be as effortless as possible for neurodivergent learners and their support community. Here is what you can expect:

Step 1. Complete Application

This is the official Aspiritech Academy application for individuals prepared to move forward in the enrollment process. The form requires comprehensive information, including personal and demographic details. All sections must be completed before submitting the application for review.

Please know that Aspiritech Academy works with our Workforce Development Partners to complete the enrollment as part of our registration process.

Step 2. Application Under Review

Application is under review. An Aspiritech Academy team member will work with you throughout our registration process.

Step 3. Meet the Instructor

The Instructor will contact you to schedule a time to meet. Instructors will use this time to answer any questions you may have, provide further details about the program, share our expectations, learn more about your goals and background, and ensure mutual program readiness and fit.

Step 4. Waiting Period

During this time our Aspiritech Academy Team is working to process all the program applicants. We may need additional information or documentation from you. We ask that you keep an eye out for our emails and/or phone calls and respond in a timely manner, as this is time-sensitive information.

Frequently Asked Questions About Aspiritech Academy's IT Support Specialist Program

Is this a CompTIA A+ certification course?

Yes. The curriculum is aligned with the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exam objectives and prepares participants to earn the CompTIA A+ certification.

Do I need prior technical experience?

No. Participants should have basic computer skills and a willingness to learn. Completion of our Digital Technology Foundations (CompTIA Tech+) program or equivalent experience is recommended but not required.

Is this program only for autistic adults?

The program is designed to support neurodivergent learners, including autistic adults, ADHDers, individuals with learning disabilities and others whose thinking styles benefit from an inclusive and accessible learning environment.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to apply?

Aspiritech and the Aspiritech Academy team understand that obtaining a formal diagnosis can be a complex process. We recognize self-identification and understand there are many reasons someone may not have formal documentation.

Some of our grant and workforce funding partners require documentation to determine eligibility. If documentation is needed, our team will work with you to identify acceptable alternatives, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP), vocational rehabilitation documentation or other qualifying records whenever possible.

Our goal is to make our programs as accessible as possible while meeting funding requirements. If you have questions about eligibility, we encourage you to contact our team.

How much does the program cost?

Aspiritech Academy programs are offered at no cost to participants. Program costs are supported through grant funding, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding and other community and employer partnerships.

How long is the program?

The IT Support Specialist Program is a 12-week virtual program. Participants attend instructor-led sessions Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time while also completing independent coursework and hands-on labs outside of class.

What jobs can I get after completing this program?

Graduates who earn the CompTIA A+ certification are prepared to pursue entry-level IT roles such as Help Desk Technician, IT Support Specialist, Desktop Support Technician, Technical Support Specialist and Field Service Technician.

Will I need a computer?

Yes. Because this is a fully virtual training program, participants must have access to a computer and reliable internet service. If obtaining equipment is a barrier, please let us know during the enrollment process so we can explore available support options.

Does Aspiritech offer job placement support?

Job placement support varies by program, funding source and employer partnerships.

While employment cannot be guaranteed, Aspiritech Academy provides career readiness training and works with employer and workforce partners to help participants prepare for successful employment in the technology industry.
