Online 6-Week Foundational IT Program for Neurodivergent Tech Professionals

Aspiritech Academy’s IT Foundations for Beginners Program is a virtual, six-week, career-focused training course that prepares neurodivergent adults for entry-level technology roles and starts their hands-on educational journey toward CompTIA’s nationally recognized IT certifications with the Tech+ certification.

Graduates will complete their learning journey by sitting for the CompTIA Tech+ exam. From there, they are able to pursue their career growth in the tech industry.

Our current programs are entirely virtual, so you can access everything you need from home. No in-person attendance is required. What Kind of Roles Would This IT Foundations Program Help Me Apply For?

IT Foundations: Beginners will build a strong foundation in the core concepts that power today’s technology industry, including computer hardware, software, networking, data management, programming, cybersecurity, cloud computing, virtualization and artificial intelligence.

These skills prepare learners for a wide range of entry-level IT roles by developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities needed to troubleshoot systems, support users, protect organizational data and adapt to emerging technologies in an ever-evolving digital workplace.

Entry-level positions such as a Tech Support Specialist or a Help Desk Specialist perform a range of tasks including but not limited to:

Installing software
Setting up computer workspaces
Helping to maintain computer networks
Troubleshooting issues as they occur
Assisting clients in diagnosing and resolving tech problems

Nearly every industry requires technology, so trained IT specialists are always in demand.

IT Foundations: Beginners Program Overview

This intensive training combines instruction, applied practice and exam preparation. Participants work through real testing scenarios and professional documentation processes used in industry environments.

Enrollment is limited to maintain instructional quality and individualized support. Our cohorts are delivered online, allowing participants to learn from the comfort of their homes.

Entry-level, with little experience required

Credential Preparation

This program prepares learners for the CompTIA Tech+ certification, an industry-recognized credential that validates foundational knowledge of computing, IT infrastructure, software, networking, cybersecurity, databases and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Throughout the program, participants complete hands-on activities, knowledge checks and exam-focused practice designed to build both confidence and competency.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be prepared to sit for the CompTIA Tech+ certification exam. They will have the foundational skills needed to pursue additional industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Security+, or transition into entry-level roles across the IT industry.

Schedule

Classes are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time (CT) for six weeks.

Participants are expected to do self-study for up to 20 hours per week.

A typical day will be around 6 hours per day, half virtual and half self-study.

This is a remote learning program.

Understanding computing fundamentals, data concepts and troubleshooting techniques.

How to Apply to Aspiritech Academy

Our enrollment process is designed to be as effortless as possible for neurodivergent learners and their support community. Here is what you can expect:

Step 1. Complete Application

This is the official Aspiritech Academy application for individuals prepared to move forward in the enrollment process. The form requires comprehensive information, including personal and demographic details. All sections must be completed before submitting the application for review.

Please know that Aspiritech Academy works with our Workforce Development Partners to complete the enrollment as part of our registration process.

Step 2. Application Under Review

Application is under review. An Aspiritech Academy team member will work with you throughout our registration process.

Step 3. Meet the Instructor

The Instructor will contact you to schedule a time to meet. Instructors will use this time to answer any questions you may have, provide further details about the program, share our expectations, learn more about your goals and background, and ensure mutual program readiness and fit.

Step 4. Waiting Period

During this time our Aspiritech Academy Team is working to process all the program applicants. We may need additional information or documentation from you. We ask that you keep an eye out for our emails and/or phone calls and respond in a timely manner, as this is time-sensitive information.

Frequently Asked Questions About Aspiritech Academy's IT Foundations: Beginners Program

Do I get a certification at the end?

The curriculum is designed to prepare participants to sit for the CompTIA Tech+ exam, which is included in the program.

Do I need prior technical experience?

No prior technology experience is required.

Is this program only for autistic adults?

The program centers neurodivergent learners, including autistic adults, in an effort to combat high under-employment rates seen in those populations.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to apply?

Aspiritech and the Aspiritech Academy team understand that diagnosis is a complex issue, and that there can be uncontrollable barriers and personal choices that prevent neurodivergent adults from receiving a formal diagnosis.

We validate and support self-diagnosis and informal diagnosis for the neurodiversity community.

However, you will notice that we do ask for formal diagnosis documentation during the Aspiritech Academy application process. That is because, in some cases, our partners or grant funders do require formal documentation for participation in our programs. If that happens, we will ask that you submit formal documentation if you can. If that is not possible, we will work closely with you to figure out an alternative, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP), or find other funding stream options.

This approach keeps Aspiritech Academy viable and sustainable for as many neurodivergent jobseekers as possible. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about applying.

How much will this cost?

Aspiritech Academy programs are offered at no cost to participants.

The cost to deliver the program ranges from $5,800 to $7,000 per participant, which Aspiritech covers through grant funding, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) dollars and other funding sources.

How long is the program?

The program lasts six weeks. During that time, participants are expected to attend sessions Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time, with additional self-study time in the afternoon. Participants can expect around six hours of learning per day.

What jobs can I get after completing this program?

After completion of our program and passing the certification exam, you can pursue entry-level positions as Tech Support Specialist, Computer Repair Technician, or Help Desk Technician, among other roles.

Since this is a remote learning program, will I need a computer?

Having a computer is necessary to participate in Aspiritech Academy’s online training. If you don’t have a computer or internet access, please let us know in your enrollment application so that we can try to accommodate your situation accordingly.

Does Aspiritech offer job placement support?

Job placement support depends on specific partnerships associated with certain Aspiritech Academy programs and cohorts.

Although we cannot guarantee employment for every participant, we are dedicated to providing training that meets industry standards and builds in-demand job skills.
