Management Team:

Brenda Weitzberg, Executive Director:

Brenda has a BA in psychology and special education with a graduate diploma in administration. She has more than 40 years’ experience in social service administration, most recently as director of north shore operations for a Chicagoland nonprofit. Throughout the years, Brenda has successfully worked collaboratively to develop and implement innovative programs to meet urgent community needs including Camp STAR, an evidence-based summer treatment program for children with ADHD, ASD and related disorders. These experiences prepared her to embark on a journey in 2008 to find innovative employment solutions for higher functioning adults with autism.

Moshe Weitzberg, Ph.D., Director of Operations:

After serving as a lieutenant in the Israeli infantry, Moshe earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University. For more than 20 years, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry where he published more than 100 scientific papers and more than 10 patents. Since retiring from Abbott Laboratories, Moshe earned both a high school teaching certificate in chemistry and physics and was also certified in software testing at SigmaSoft. Moshe currently works as Aspiritech’s Director of Operations. In this role, he oversees Aspiritech’s team of Software Test Engineers and Test Lead.

Ann B. Brownell, PhD, Senior QA Manager:

Ann Brownell is a mentor, a coach, a partner, an educator, and a leader. She has 20+ years of experience in software development and quality assurance and even more in personnel and program management. Ann is not afraid to ask or answer difficult questions. She helps teams increase quality, efficiency, productivity, and pride. Ann has worked in many different industries including education, learning, training, and knowledge tracking systems; statistical analysis and data services; property, planning, and document management; and social engineering and networking. Ann has a PhD in Educational Processes – focusing on how people learn and develop. This foundation fits perfectly into the world of software where access to knowledge and experience continues to grow exponentially. Ann likes to work smart and work hard with smart, hard-working teams. Nothing is too big to learn; nothing is too small to do. Everything that contributes to the success of a project is everyone's job.

Brad Cohen, Business Development Director

After 30 years as a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and 10 years serving in the Board of Directors at Aspiritech, Brad proudly joined the company to build the client base and help Aspiritech grow its employment mission. Brad is also the managing partner of Snippets Mini Cuts, a small chain of kid’s hair salons since 1999, and Surfside Palmas Resorts, a rental management company in Puerto Rico since 2015. He also has served on several educational boards including District 112 Foundation and Board of the Palmas Academy.

Joan Costello, Human Resources:

Joan brings more than 16 years of Human Resources Management experience to her role at Aspiritech. She has a BA from the University of Delaware, and was previously certified as an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources). Having worked in a variety of fields such as Banking, Social Services, Manufacturing, HR Consulting, and Recruiting, Joan brings a passion for helping companies find the best people, creating the best environments for employees to thrive, and helping companies find the best ways to work efficiently and effectively. Having a family member on the Autism spectrum herself, Joan understands the importance of providing meaningful employment for this population, and is so proud to be a part of this important mission.

Bonny Goldin, LCSW, Counselor:

Bonny joined the Aspiritech management team in January, 2017.  She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned her undergraduate and then her Masters in social work.  She is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked extensively with individuals on the autism spectrum as well as in other settings, including with foster children and their foster families, elderly individuals receiving home services, newly-arrived Russian immigrants, and, most recently, in a local, therapeutic day school for students with special needs.

Bonny provides direct services and also oversees the support team (autism specialist, counselor, job coaches) that assists Aspiritech’s neurodiverse staff members and helps them succeed at their jobs. She also consults with the management staff on effective strategies to use in the work place.

Robin Kacyn, Development Specialist:

Robin oversaw Aspiritech's Stepping Up and Out program (SU&O) from November 2015 to early 2017. In October 2016, she joined the team in a full-time capacity as Program Services Specialist, providing our team of analysts with a variety of services including job coaching, support and training.

Robin transitioned into a development specialist in 2018, helping to oversee Aspiritech’s fundraising initiatives. She also manages the Chicago branch office and continues to oversee social programming.

Robin earned a BA in Theatre from Washington University in St. Louis and has additional training and experience in the culinary arts. She's worked extensively in both early childhood and adult education, most recently utilizing her eclectic background to guide her work building programs and providing staff support at Aspiritech.
